What Is Yeast Infection?

A vaginal yeast infection is mostly caused by candida albicans. Candida albicans is the name of yeast and is often considered as a fungus. Candida albicans naturally live in the vagina together with bacteria. Candida maintains the natural balance in the vagina. Under certain circumstances, this balance can disrupt. The fungus can start to grow excessively, and an infection occurs. Vaginal yeast infection also knows as Candidiasis, are a common condition in the female human body. A healthy vagina has bacteria and some yeast cells. When the balance of bacteria and yeast changes, the yeast cells can multiply. This causes intense itching, swelling, and irritation. Vaginal yeast infections are not considered a sexually transmitted infection. The Sexual contact can spread it, but women who aren’t sexually active can also get them. Once you get a yeast infection, you’re also more likely to get another one.


There are some symptoms of vaginal candidiasis :

 Itching: During to vaginal yeast infection the women’s get itching in and around the vagina.

 Burning pain: Burning pain starts in their vagina due to the yeast infection.

 Pain: This is the very critical problem of those women’s who has the yeast infection because during this infection women’s have pain in their vagina during urination and intercourse.

 Plenty of white and flakey vaginal discharge.

 Redness: Women’s get redness in their vagina during the yeast infection.

 And swelling: Swelling also come on women’s vagina and labia.

Sometimes a more complicated yeast infection may occur, with more severe symptoms. Four or more diseases may arise in one year. There may be serious redness, swelling, and itching, leading to skin fissures or sores. Medical conditions that can cause a complicated yeast infection include pregnancy, uncontrolled diabetes, having a weakened immune system, and the presence of an other Candida fungus, as opposed to Candida albicans. In men, it affects the head of the penis. Symptoms include redness, irritation, and discharge. It can also affect the skin or the mouth.


Standard yeast infections are caused by the yeast species candida albicans, but other species of candida can also cause an infection. They need different treatments. Yeast infection developed when the disturbance started in the balance of the yeast and bacteria that commonly present in woman’s vagina. Lactobacillus, the bacteria creates an environment that does not encourage yeast overgrowth, but if yeast becomes dominant, symptoms of a yeast infection may emerge.


Treatment of the disease depends on whether it is complicated or uncomplicated.

For uncomplicated yeast infection treatment

There is two easy way to get rid of the yeast infection: Vaginal therapy and Oral treatment.
For uncomplicated yeast infection, a short course of vaginal treatment is sufficient.
Some medicines can treat your uncomplicated yeast infection: butoconazole (Gynazole-1), clotrimazole (Gyne-Lotrimin), miconazole (Monistat 3), and terconazole (Terazol 3).

For complicated yeast infection treatment

If your yeast infection is complicated, then treatment will include the use of the long course vaginal therapy or multi-dose formulation. If symptoms are severe, a doctor may prescribe a few days of topical steroids to help ease symptoms while the antifungal medication works.
