What are the Fibroids?

Fibroids are the most frequent tumors of the female reproductive system. Fibroids are also known as uterine myomas. Fibroids are the noncancerous tumor that appears in the tissues around the uterus. Fibroids are abnormal growth that develops in or on a woman’s uterus. These tumors become quite large, and causes serve pain and heavy periods. Fibroids are non-cancerous. Fibroids can be so small that they are not visible to the human eye and they can be large enough to deform a uterus. It is normal for the fibroid to change in size. Fibroids estimated that between 20 to 50 percent of woman’s reproductive age have fibroids and they all are not diagnosed. Fibroids 33 to 77 percent of woman will develop fibroids during their childbearing years. Fibroids may range in size, from the scale of a pea to the scale of a softball or small grapefruit. In more than 99% of fibroids cases, the tumors are benign (non-cancerous). Fibroids are not associated with cancer and do not increase a woman’s risk for uterine cancer. Fibroids is a condition which affects the woman. In this small round shape, tumors develop within and outside the uterus. Usually, a woman can detect the presence of these tumors only when it’s growing in big size.

The tumors shrank after menopause when the levels of reproductive hormones declined. It remains unclear that exactly what causes fibroids, but it may be related to estrogen levels. Fibroids develop during the reproductive years when estrogen and progesterone levels are high. When estrogen levels are high, especially during pregnancy fibroids, tend to swell. Fibroids also develop when the woman is taking birth control pills that contain estrogen. When estrogen levels are low, fibroids may shrink, for example during menopause.

SYMPTOMS

1. Extended periods : fibroids put more pressure on the uterus lining, it causing more bleeding and pain. And your uterus goes through long periods.

2. Heavy bleeding: During the periods you have to go through with heavy bleeding due to uterine fibroids.

3. Constipation: you may find that you are constipating a lot and you have the problem when you to the bathroom.

4. Frequent urination: you may find that you are urinating a lot.

5. Pelvic pain: you may get pelvic pain or pressure in the pelvic area. So those are signs lookout for because you know sometimes the fibroids pres against the pelvic area.

Treatments For Fibroids :-

There are lots of treatment to get rid of Fibroids. You can get rid of it with many types of surgery, medicines, pills and with home remedies also.
Treatments

Birth control pills: Oral contraceptives help regulate the ovulation cycle, and they may help reduce menorrhagia.

Surgery: If symptoms are severe and medical therapy has failed, then you have to take surgery to get rid of fibroids. There are many types of surgery.

Myomectomy: Fibroids are removed by surgery from the wall of the uterus. This surgery can help woman’s who still want to children.

Endometrial ablation: Removing the lining of the uterus may help if fibroids are near the inner surface of the uterus. It can be an effective alternative to a hysterectomy.
